In 20 minutes of tossing the ball, it felt like the temperature dropped by 20 degrees and reminded me of a poem I once wrote about the weather in Springfield. It still makes me laugh that an old Forbes list named Springfield as the #1 city of greatest weather variety in the US. Maybe that’s what spurred the connection.
Chris works in the world of music and was telling me about the choir he’s directing and the big multi-choir concert he’s organized tonight. And now he gets the joy of trying to figure out organizing the event and managing the cold front and winter weather advisory.
Sometimes Springfield weather doesn’t play fair.
As he talked about the world of music, I said something about my poems and we agreed to connect later this summer about the possibility of doing a night together to celebrate the arts.
Play catch.
