National Play Catch Week starts on Father’s Day – Sunday, June 18.
Since I’m the Official Catch Partner of the Portland Pickles, we’ll be holding a simple contest.
Here are the rules.
Sometime between Sunday, June 18, and Saturday, June 24, post a picture playing catch or with a catch partner while wearing Pickles gear. (If you don’t yet own Pickles gear, get creative and make your own for the sake of the contest. Creativity might get you bonus points with the judges. Or it might not. Who knows?)
Post the picture on Twitter and / or Instagram and include the hashtags #GetPickled and #Catch365. If you are especially proud of your picture and think it has a chance to win, feel free to tag me, too.
There are no limits as to how many times you may enter. If you play catch every day, submit a picture every day.
In honor of my daughters, Kaylea and Sophie, who inspired my catch-playing journey, there will be two winners.
The winners will receive an autographed copy of A Year of Playing Catch and an official Portland Pickles t-shirt or hat.
The winners will be carefully judged on the following criteria – wearing Pickles gear, using baseball gloves, including the hashtags. Get creative!
Most importantly, get out there and play catch! Have fun making a memory!
